College Cars: 1929 Auburn Speedster

This is College Cars, a recurring feature about the Academy of Art University car collection. Today we look at this lovely two-tone red 1929 Auburn Boattail Speedster.

The Auburn Speedster was developed as an effort by owner E.L. Cord (of Cord automobile fame) to spur flagging sales of the brand in the mid-1920s. A Lycoming 8-cylinder engine was introduced, which in 1929 trim made 120 horsepower.
